Regulatory information
Makoto Collective Ltd imports goods from Japan under the EU and Japan Economic Partnership Agreement and is the importer of record for the products it sells.
For cosmetic products, the EU Responsible Person under Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 is Dan Williamson at 65 Willow, Trimbleston, Goatstown, Dublin, D14 FX36, Ireland. Product information files are kept at that address and are available to the competent authorities. Cosmetic products are supervised in Ireland by the Health Products Regulatory Authority and by the Environmental Health Service of the Health Service Executive.
Where we sell food, including tea and matcha, Makoto Collective Ltd operates as a registered food business under Regulation (EC) No 178/2002 and Regulation (EC) No 852/2004, registered with the Environmental Health Service of the Health Service Executive and subject to the oversight of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland. Food is labelled in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, and the particulars that regulation requires appear on each product page before purchase as well as on the goods.
Articles we sell that are intended to come into contact with food, including ceramic cups, bowls and plates, comply with Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 and, in the case of ceramics, with Council Directive 84/500/EEC as amended, which sets the limits on the release of lead and cadmium. We hold a declaration of compliance for each such article.
Under the General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988, Makoto Collective Ltd is the responsible economic operator for the non-cosmetic products it places on the EU market, including ceramics, incense and homeware. Safety and use information, including burning instructions for incense, is given on the product page and on the goods.
Alcoholic products are not offered for sale until the relevant Irish import and retail licences have been granted.
